Transferring Employee Provident Fund is a troublesome task every employee has to go through when changing jobs. The traditional method of PF transfer involves a lot of paperwork. Also, you need to be in touch with your previous employer apart from contacting your current employer. At some point of time, you become really tired of doing all this. Sometimes, it may also happen that you are completely unaware of where your money is.
Considering the above problems faced by employees, the EPFO introduced a new system to smoothen the process of PF transfer. The EPFO has launched an online portal in October, 2013, using which you can transfer your PF money online in a more effective and transparent manner. Since then, many people have applied for online transfer of their PF money.
The exciting thing about online PF transfer is that it has removed delays caused by the traditional method which includes lengthy paperwork, posting delays, frequent follow-ups with the previous and current employers and the file going to the wrong EPFO office.
